Unlike other forest reserves in Punjab, Harike is primarily characterized by its vast water body, marshy islands, and floating vegetation that support a unique microclimate.Rich Flora and FaunaThe wetland is a haven for ornithologists, hosting thousands of migratory birds during winter, including ferruginous ducks, siberian gulls, and crested grebes. It is also one of the few places in India where the endangered Indus River Dolphin can be spotted.
