Sagargad Fort

HistorySagargad Fort, also known as Kheddurg, has roots dating back to the Shilahara dynasty. It became a strategic asset when Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj captured it in 1660. A key architectural highlight is the ancient Siddheshwar Temple. The trek begins from Khandale village and takes approximately two to three hours. The best time to visit is between July and February to enjoy the lush greenery or pleasant winter weather. Trekkers should wear sturdy footwear and start their journey early in the morning to enjoy the panoramic views of Alibaug.
